Richard Mesa was born at Redstone Arsenal Army Post in Huntsville, Alabama. He moved around frequently as his father served 22 years in the United States Army, including tours to Iraq and Korea. Throughout Richard's childhood, the military had moved his family to places such as Texas, Louisiana, Florida, Japan, Missouri, and Illinois, with the final stop being in Georgia in 2011.
Richard went on to attend Valdosta State University and the University of Georgia, where he obtained a degree in Psychology. While in college, he accepted an offer to work as an onsite agent for a homebuilder in the Atlanta market. Working in home construction sales would be Richard’s first encounter with the real estate industry. Following his success in the new construction sector, Richard pivoted his real estate path and transitioned into residential resale.
